Fairfield track and field athletes set school records at Cedarville

The Fairfield boys and girls track and field teams traveled to Cedarville University on Saturday, April 8 for the Cedarville Impson Invitational.
The teams were able to field A team and B team athletes, with the FHS girls placing sixth of 17 schools and the B team placing 15th.
Blake Adams placed first in both the discus and shot put with new school records of 36-05.25 in the shot put and 92-04 in discus.
The girls also set new school records in the 1600-meter (5:59.19) and 3200m (13:00.27) runs by freshman Ciara Colwell.

Also with a new school record was the 4x200m relay team of Paige Teeters, Mikayla Griffith, Payton Harvey and Dakota Haynes (2:03.15).
The 4x400m relay team ran by Ciara Knisley, Paige Teeters, Mikayla Griffith and Payton Harvey also set a new school record (4:51.33).
Another new school record set was in the 400m dash by junior Ciara Knisley (1:09.25).
The boys placed fifth of 18 teams, and the B team placed 14th overall.
Noah Richmond placed first in the 1600m run with a time of 4:38.98. Sophomore Bennett Hodson gained a new school record in the 400m dash and was a member of the 4x400m school record-breaking relay team, along with Brandtson Duffie, Trent Swisher and Noah Richmond.
The teams will next be in action at the Andy Haines Memorial Invitational at Paint Valley High School on Thursday, April 13.
