Fairfield Lions win Aaron Reed Memorial at Southeastern High School

The Fairfield Lions continued to gain team wins on Saturday, Sept. 14 by winning the 2019 Aaron Reed Memorial cross-country event held at Southeastern High School.
FHS won with a score of 40, winning by 30 points over second-place Miami Trace, who scored 70 points. In third was Adena (93), followed by Westfall (112) and Huntington (119) for the Top 5 finishers.
The rest of the field (6-10) were West Union (156), River Valley (172), McClain (179), Zane Trace (207) and Eastern Pike (238).

Fairfield had the top two finishers in the event with Cohen Frost in first place (17:13.56) and Ethan Davis (17:15.81) in second. Also in the Top 10 for the Lions was Gavin Campbell with a time of 18:30.02. In 12th place was Blake Haines (18:43.59).
The 17th-place spot went to Landry Hattan at 19:26.92, and in 22nd place was Brant Haines (19:59.14). Other finishers for the Lions were Nathan Vidourek (21:43.79), Dalton Hamilton (22:38.70), Gavin Cox (25:52.58), Ryan Benson (26:06.17), Elijah Humphreys (29:43.31), Josh Brown (29:48.49), Ben Elton (29:49.41), Hunter McIntosh (37:37.79) and Tucker Green (38:26.74).
McClain was led by Nathan Ernst at 20:14.24 in 23rd place. In 27th place for the Tigers was Paul Bliss at 20:41.20. Luke Bliss finished in 32nd place for MHS at 21:03.81. Other times for the Tigers included: Garrett George (22:01.77), Mason Reichman (23:38.02), Matthew Milnes (23:41.09), Lucas Jansen (23:58.70), Quinton Smith (24:04.29), Chance Lane (30:06.55), Zane Bode (30:52.88) and Nick Cunningham (31:46.35).
In the girls race, the Fairfield Lady Lions were seventh out of 10 teams with a score of 157. McClain had girls race in the event but didn’t field an entire team to score team points. Winning the girls event was Huntington with a score of 69.
Fairfield’s top runner was Anna Davis in 18th place at 24:59.03. Naomi Ludwick was next in 24th place (26:07.64), and in 31st place was Makenna Colwell with a time of 26:30.14. Other FHS times included: Morgan Richmond (29:15.90), Madison Fox (29:16.77), Maddie Griffith (32:43.98) and Jaden Smith (33:49.30).
In the girls race, McClain’s top finisher was Aaliyah Evans in 38th place with a time of 27:30.16. Other MHS times included: Kathy Alvarez (27:34.86), Lexi Jones (29:37.24) and Maysun Faulconer (35:55.74).
