The Fairfield Middle School boys won the Southern Hills Athletic Conference Cross-Country Championship, Saturday for the fourth straight year.
The team had an impressive first through fourth individual placing in a field of 69 runners. Winning the conference championship was Austin Setty, finishing with a time of 10:40.
Runner-up was teammate, Brandtson Duffie (11:03). In third was Zane Adams (11:21) and in fourth was Sam Buddelmeyer (11:28).
Also in the Top 10, in eighth was Bennett Hodson (11:50), Gavin Campbell was 12th (11:58) and in 16th was Ethan Davis (12:18).
Fairfield finished with a low score of 17 (a perfect cross-country score is 15).
Runner-up Whiteoak had 61 points, followed by Eastern Brown (70), Ripley (114), West Union (148), Manchester (151) and Lynchburg-Clay (192). North Adams, Peebles and Fayetteville did not field full teams.
"Coach Raymond Friend and I are excited about the future and the progression of the middle school program," assistant coach Bill Mangus said. "We have some talented boys and girls that we expect to contribute in high school."[[In-content Ad]]
