Fairfield Lions, Lady Lions race at Elizabeth S. Broughton Memorial Cross-Country Invitational

The Fairfield Lions and Lady Lions raced at the Elizabeth S. Broughton Memorial Cross-Country Invitational on Saturday morning in Marietta, where the Lions were first place overall and the Lady Lions were sixth place on the day.

The boys team won with a score of 47, while the second-place team Caldwell scored a 74. The Lions totaled a time of 1:29:53.10 and had an average time of 17:58.62.

Fairfield’s top finisher was Cohen Frost, a junior, with a time of 16:49 for third place. Also in the Top 5 was senior Ethan Davis at 17:11 for fifth place.

Gaining a 10th-place finish was junior Blake Haines at 18:16. The Lions also had a 15th-place finish with senior Gavin Campbell at 18:38. A Top 20 finisher was freshman Landry Hattan with a time of 18:57 for 20th place overall. The 24th-place finisher was junior Brant Haines (19:16.80), and in the Top 50 out of 104 total runners was junior Nathan Vidourek at 21:16.50.

Other FHS times included: freshman Dalton Hampton (22:35.40), junior Orrie Friend (23:30.60), junior Gavin Cox (27:50.50), sophomore Josh Brown (28:31.80), freshman Elijah Humphreys (29:14.30), sophomore Ben Eltman (29:59.90) and sophomore Tucker Green (35:47.20).

In the girls race, Fairfield scored 161 points, with a team time of 2:06:28, for an average time of 25:17.60.

Senior Ciara Colwell was second place in the race with a time of 20:52.

Also for Fairfield, times included a 38th-place finish from sophomore Anna Davis (25:21), and also in the Top 50 at 46th overall were senior Payton Harvey (26:22) and sophomore Makenna Colwell with a time of 26:28 for 47th overall.

More FHS times included: junior Madison Fox (56th, 27:25), sophomore Maddie Griffith (66th, 30:40), senior Laynee Duffie (68th, 30:42) and junior Jaden Smith (69th, 30:44).

The winning team was Parkersburg.
