Fairfield Lions cross-country wins at Lancaster

The Fairfield Lions were at it once again on Saturday morning in Lancaster, taking home the top prize in the 2016 Division III Bob Reall Invitational hosted by Lancaster High School.
FHS gained seven of the Top 13 spots in the invitational race, as each team could have just seven runners in the invitational race. FHS totaled a score of 28 to gain first place, followed by second-place Mount Gilead with 33 points.
In third was Fairfield Christian (96), followed by Worthington Christian (103), Piketon (133) and Nelsonville-York (163). The race consisted of 50 runners.

Junior Noah Richmond led all Fairfield runners with a third-place finish and a time of 17:17.4, and in fifth place was senior Wyatt Evans with a time of 17:30.6.
The seventh-place spot went to senior Trent Swisher at 17:38.6, and in eighth place was sophomore Austin Setty at 17:43.5.
Bennett Hodson, a sophomore, gave FHS five in the Top 10 standings with his time of 17:49.0. In 11th place was sophomore Brandtson Duffie at 17:50.8, and in 13th place was junior Matthew Mangus at 18:05.1.
There was also a second race at the event, the Division II and III Open, as the Lions had runners in that race as well. The race consisted of 172 runners.
In that race, FHS freshman Ethan Davis finished in second place with a time of 18:18.7, and in fifth place was junior Andrew Davis at 18:40.6. Also in the Top 10 of the Open was sophomore Sam Buddelmeyer at 18:55.0 for an eighth-place finish.
Dillon Burley, a senior, was 12th overall in the Open at 19:08.3. Other times for the Lions included: junior Nick Price (18th, 19:29.5), freshman Tristan Victor (21:02.2), freshman Gavin Campbell (22:06.8), freshman Trey Wilkinson (23:44.3), freshman Derek Cooper (25:04.1) and sophomore Riley Friend (27:51.6).
