Fairfield Lady Lions fall to South Webster, defeat Fayetteville

The Fairfield Lady Lions split their past two games, as they lost on Saturday to the South Webster Lady Jeeps and on Monday they defeated the Fayetteville Lady Rockets, with both games being road games.
In the 61-41 non-conference loss Saturday, Fairfield scored 13 points in the first quarter, six points in the second, 12 points in the third and 10 points in the fourth frame.
Samara Cannon led the Lady Lions with 20 points. She totaled seven two-point baskets, along with one 3-pointer, and she was also 3-of-4 from the free-throw line.

Trinity Huff followed with six points, followed by Ella Newkirk, Emma Fouch and Brianna Barnes each with four points. Also scoring points were Molly Thackston with two points and Braylynn Haines with one point.
Making 3-pointers in the loss for FHS were Newkirk, Cannon and Fouch.
For the game, FHS totaled 13 two-point baskets, three 3-pointers, and they were 6-of-12 from the free-throw line.
On Monday night in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action, the Lady Lions defeated the Fayetteville Lady Rockets, 67-57.
FHS was led by Cannon and Barnes with 19 points each. Cannon, a sophomore, totaled three two-point field goals, two 3-pointers and she was 7-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Barnes totaled seven two-point baskets and was 5-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Huff was next in the scoring column with 11 points, and Fouch totaled 10 points in the win. Others scoring points were Thackston with five points (one 3-pointer) and Newkirk with three points.
For the game, FHS had 21 two-point baskets, three 3-pointers and they were 16-of-26 from the free-throw line.
As for quarter scoring, the Lady Lions had 13 points in the first, 22 points in the second, 12 points in the third and 20 points in the fourth quarter.
The two games leave Fairfield at 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the SHAC.
Next for FHS is an away game at Whiteoak on Thursday, Dec. 6.
