Fairfield Lady Lions 8th in Week 5 OHSSCA State Poll

FHS has gone undefeated this season in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference for a second consecutive season with a 13-0 mark in SHAC games, and for the season, they stand at 17-1 overall.

This past week, they defeated Western to win the sectional championship by a 15-0 score (their 16th straight sectional title and 31st overall), advancing to the Div. IV SE District Semifinals on Thursday, May 18 against Southern in Minford.

The Lady Lions stand in eighth place in the state poll with 26 points from the vote. The No. 1 ranked team is Gibsonburg with 77 points and five first-place votes.

Second through fifth place in the poll are: Danville (two first-place votes, 61 points), Rockford Parkway (one first-place vote, 60 points), Jerome Hillsdale (46 points) and Williamsburg (43 points).

Sixth through 10th place are: Portsmouth Clay (37 points), Strasburg-Franklin (34 points), Fairfield (26 points), Old Fort (21 points) and Pleasant Hill Newton (10 points).

Last week in the Week 4 poll, the Lady Lions were ranked seventh with 34 points.
