The Fairfield JV baseball team defeated the East Clinton Astros by a 12-9 score on Saturday.

The Lions were down 8-6 going into the fifth inning, but Fairfield rallied to score six runs over the next two innings and played stellar defense behind great pitching to seal the win.

Orrie Friend, Ethan Saunders and Nathan Vidourek all pitched well, striking out six and walking four collectively. The Lions were led at the plate by Jeffery Spears, Brennon Mondabaugh, Saunders and Friend, who each collected two hits. Logan Rohde and Vidourek each collected one hit.

"We did a good job moving runners at the plate and taking advantage of some of their mistakes. I am proud of the way the kids battled today,” FHS JV coach Jason Fox said.
