Fairfield defends home court against Blue Lions

On Tuesday night, the Fairfield Lions defeated the Washington Blue Lions by a 67-52 score at Grandle Gymnasium.
Both teams scored 16 points apiece in the first frame, and in the second quarter it was Fairfield leading by a 10-8 score for a 26-24 halftime lead.
The third frame saw the Lions break out for a 25-8 quarter, building a 51-32 lead. In the fourth, Washington scored 20 points, and the Lions added 16 points to their lead for the 15-point win.

Fairfield was led by Bryson Simmons with 16 points with three two-point baskets, one 3-pointer and he was 7-of-9 from the free-throw line.
Next in the scoring column was Connor Priest with 14 points, with Priest making three two-point baskets and going 8-of-12 in free-throw attempts.
Wyatt Willey scored 13 points, as he sank four two-point baskets and was 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.
Also scoring 13 points was James Bentley as he made six two-point buckets and he was 1-of-1 from the free-throw line.
Rounding out the scoring was Tytis Cannon with seven points, while Reese Teeters and Tucker Watson each scored two points.
The Lions finished with 19 two-point baskets, two 3-pointers, plus going 23-of-32 from the free-throw line.
Washington totaled 14 two-point baskets, six 3-pointers and they were 6-of-12 on their free-throw shooting.
The Blue Lions were led by Tanner Lemaster with 19 points and Karson Runk with 12 points.
