Fairfield cheerleaders win awards at UCA Cheer Camp

The Fairfield High School cheerleaders recently returned from a four-day UCA Cheer Camp at Miami University in Oxford.
While at camp, the cheerleaders learned all-new material that will be used during their season this year. They also competed in a game day-style competition consisting of a sideline cheer, crowd-involved cheer, a band-dance routine and an extreme dance routine. Fairfield placed first in the extreme dance routine and second in the cheer category in their division.
While at camp, junior Kaitlin White was selected by the UCA staff as an All-American Cheerleader. Junior Haven Woods received the prestigious staff selected “Pin it Forward” award for exemplifying “why America needs cheerleaders,” and junior Teigan Thackston received a participant-selected “Pin It Forward” award.
Fairfield High School cheerleaders hold many fundraisers throughout the year in order to offset the cost of summer camp and help with other expenses. This year, the cheerleaders will be hosting the Queen Pageant at the upcoming Leesburg Fall Fest for ages 0-18. For more information, contact Carly Haines at (937) 763-9645.
The cheerleaders will also be selling ads for the basketball program, hosting a pee-wee cheer night during the season and will be in charge of the homecoming festivities.
The Fairfield cheerleaders would like to thank the Leesburg community for their continued support and ask everyone to come out and help them cheer on all of Fairfield’s athletic teams.
