Fairfield boys soccer ends season in sectionals

The Fairfield Lions boys soccer team had their season come to a close on Saturday afternoon in the Division III SE District Sectional Semifinals, falling to the Eastern Brown Warriors.
The battle of the two Southern Hills Athletic Conference teams saw the Lions lose by a 4-0 score, as the score was 1-0 at halftime. The Warriors were able to add three more goals in the second half at their home field.

A positive for the Lions to build on from this season was sophomore keeper James Bentley totaled 125 saves. He finished the 2017 season averaging nearly nine goals per match. Against Eastern on Saturday, Bentley totaled six saves.
Seniors for the Lions this season were Garrett Spargur and Quinton Beatty.
The Lions went winless on the season at 0-15 overall and 0-7 in the SHAC.
