Fairfield 6th graders win Whiteoak Tournament

The Fairfield boys sixth grade team won the Whiteoak Holiday Tournament this past weekend.

The sixth grade Fairfield team defeated Manchester, 36-21; Hillsboro, 29-24; and Ripley, 37-34 in overtime as they came back from an eight-point deficit with 50 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

The sixth grade Fairfield team then defeated Ripley again in the finals, 50-48, this time coming from behind by nine points in the fourth frame.

Austin Setty and Griffin Irvin were named co-MVPs.

The team is coached by Matt Hodson and Mike Evans.
