Cox signs with Wilmington College women's basketball

Fairfield High School senior Heather Cox has signed her National Letter of Intent to play college basketball at Wilmington College, a Division III school.
Cox was a All-Ohio special mention selection in Division IV this past season. The FHS senior scored 19.1 ppg this season, averaging a double-double, as she also tallied 14.8 rpg.
[[In-content Ad]]She surpassed not only 1,000 points for her career, but also set the Fairfield girls basketball career mark in all-time scoring.
"Playing college basketball is a dream come true," Cox said at her signing day. "It is actually happening, and I'm excited for the experience. I'm looking forward to it."
Wilmington College is coached by Jerry Scheve, who is now a Hall of Famer, as he's being inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame on May 17.
Scheve spoke about his latest recruit.
"We are excited to have her," the Hall of Fame coach said. "We've watched her in high school and in AAU games, and we feel she'll make great contributions to the program.
"We need someone who can play in the post, and she has a great chance to do that."
