Ciara Colwell races to state championships with 9th-place regional finish

Fairfield senior Ciara Colwell is going to the 2019 OHSAA State Cross-Country Championships next week following her Top 10 finish on Saturday at the regional race at Pickerington North High School.

Colwell finished in ninth place, having a time of 19:42.2 to lead the way in her final season for the Lady Lions. This is Colwell’s third consecutive trip to the state meet for her high school career.

Fairfield ran at the regionals as a team, and sophomore Anna Davis finished with a time of 23:26.2, followed by sophomore Nayomie Ludwick at 23:57.1.

Also for Fairfield, sophomore Emily Price had a time of 24:16.9, and next was sophomore Makenna Colwell at 24:34.8.

Fairfield junior Madison Fox had a time of 24:59.7, and senior Payton Harvey finished at 25:21.0.

Also from Highland County, Lynchburg-Clay sophomore Raelynn Ruble placed 29th overall with a time of 20:53.1.

Colwell will race at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 at National Trail Raceway in the state meet.
