Brandtson Duffie, Alexis Swisher win middle school HC Invitational races

The Fairfield Middle School Cross-Country program was dominant in both the boys and girls middle school races on Thursday, as Alexis Swisher won the girls race and Brandtson Duffie won the boys race.
Swisher, an eighth grader, finished with a time of 15:26, and for the boys race, Duffie finished with a time of 11:14.
As for the Lions in the boys race, Austin Setty was second at 11:15, followed by Hillsboro gaining third and fourth places in Justin Hatfield (12:18) and Andrew Gunderman (12:27).

In fifth was Fairfield's Sam Buddelmeyer at 12:38.
The Lions won the middle school race with a score of 27, followed by Hillsboro in second with 45 points. In third was Whiteoak (52), and fourth was Lynchburg-Clay (114).
Also running for the FMS boys were: Zane Adams, Gavin Campbell, Bennett Hodson and Ethan Davis.
As for the middle school girls race, in second was Fairfield's Megan Gragg (15:49), followed by teammates Ailean Duffie (16:24), Rachel Schuler (16:35) and Lauren Arnold (all of Fairfield) at 17:38.
FMS was the lone girls team to have a team score. Also on the FMS girls team are Brianna Barnes and Trinity Huff.
