3 from Highland County named SE District Track & Field Athletes of the Year

Three Highland County track and field athletes have earned Southeast District Athlete of the Year honors, as voted by the Southeast Ohio Association of Track and Cross-Country Coaches.
For the Division II district meet at Washington, McClain senior Chayden Pitzer earned co-Girls Athlete of the Year honors, while Hillsboro senior Austin Goolsby was named Boys Athlete of the Year.

In Division III, Fairfield senior Matthew Mangus was co-Boys South Athlete of the Year.
The athletes and coaches of the year, along with the All-District first and second teams, will be honored at a banquet June 4 at Vinton County. The first team includes athletes who have qualified to state. The Division I second team will be the second SE District finisher in each event who also qualifies to the regional meet. In Division II and III, the second team will include athletes who placed second in their event at the district meet but did not advance to the state meet.
Named athletes of the year are: Div. I girls, Lindsay Zatta, Athens; Div. I boys, Tristan Myers, Logan; Div. II girls (Washington), Rayana Burns of Washington, Autumn Mohan of Unioto and Chayden Pitzer of McClain; Div. II boys (Washington), Austin Goolsby, Hillsboro; Div. II girls (Meigs), Katlyn Deem of Sheridan and Anna Foster of Sheridan; Div. II boys (Meigs), Ethan Tabor, Sheridan; Div. III girls, Ellie Ruby of Wheelersburg, Jenny Seas of Peebles and Lynsey Shipley of Portsmouth; Div. III boys (north), Breydan Tilley, Minford; and Div. III boys (south), Travis Burton, Paint Valley and Matthew Mangus of Fairfield.
Coaches of the year are: Div. I girls, Adam Gonczy, Athens; Div. I boys, Josh Sturgell, Logan; Div. II girls (Washington), Jennifer Johnston, Zane Trace; Div.
