Fairfield volleyball wins 2nd consecutive SHAC championship

The Fairfield Lady Lions are champions of the Division II Southern Hills Athletic Conference, as they finished the regular season with a 12-1 SHAC record after defeating the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats Thursday night.
Fairfield defeated WHS in four sets on Thursday at Grandle Gymnasium, winning set one at 25-17, set three at 27-25 and set four at 25-14. Whiteoak won set two at 25-13.
Fairfield saw Jobey Hattan led the way in kills with 17, followed by Remi Moon with nine. Hattan recently totaled her 500th career kill.
Kelsey Clark led in assists with 32, as she also recently recorded her 500th career assist for the Lady Lions. FHS as a team totaled 36 assists.
Leading in serving was Jadi Howland with three aces, followed by Mackenzie Anderson with two aces. As a team, FHS totaled nine aces in the SHAC win.
The Lady Lions had 77 digs altogether, with Hattan having 22, while teammate Clark finished with 14. Other dig totals included: Anderson with 11, Howland with 11, Moon with eight, Haley Crabtree with five, McKinley Cox with four and Emily Taylor with two.
Taylor led FHS with two blocks, and Hattan totaled one block.
The Lady Lions also celebrated senior night, with Crabtree and Taylor both recognized.
Last season, FHS also won Division I of the SHAC with a 12-1 record, giving them back-to-back SHAC volleyball championships.
The win moves Fairfield to 15-7 overall.

Fairfield falls to Paint Valley
Non-conference action Wednesday saw the Fairfield Lady Lions fall to the Paint Valley Lady Bearcats in a five-set match at PVHS.
Fairfield won sets three and four by scores of 25-20 and 25-20, while PVHS won sets one, two and five by scores of 25-22, 25-24 and 15-12.
For the Lady Lions, Jobey Hattan led with 19 kills, and next was Mackenzie Anderson with 12 kills.
Kelsey Clark led FHS with 40 assists, and the aces leader was Emily Taylor with five. Leading in digs was Hattan with 25, followed by Clark with 18, Remi Moon with 15 and Jadi Howland with 14.
FHS was led in blocks by Moon and McKinley Cox with three each.
