Fairfield FFA members compete at the Ohio State Fair

Many of the Fairfield FFA members participated at the Ohio State Fair, July 26-Aug. 6.

Members competing included: Wyatt Morrow, Evelyn Roehm, Emelia Roehm, Emily Haines, Carly Sanders, Sydney Sander and Maddie Caldwell.

Results for State Fair participants and advocates of Fairfield FFA were as follows:

• Evelyn Roehm: second-place 15-year-old breeding sheep showmanship, first place in Southdown fall ewe lambs class, fifth place in Southdown winter ram lamb, 15-year-old OBE, seventh overall OBE, first-place AOV Old English game bird pullet, first-place AOV Old English game bird cockerel, and third-place AOV Old English game bird rooster.

• Emelia Roehm – second-place ram Dorset, fifth-place spring Dorset ewe and sixth-place lightweight crossbred market lamb.

• Emily Haines – ninth overall 16-year-old in the Poultry Skillathon.

• Carly Sanders – Champion Maine Angus Female in both the Open and Junior Show, Reserve Champion Angus Female in the Open Show.
 
• Sydney Sanders – sixth overall beef breeding exhibitor and champion 17-year-old beef breeding exhibitor at state fair.

• Maddie Caldwell – Reserve Duroc gilt in the open show, third overall York gilt in the junior show, third overall Duroc barrow in the junior show and reserve 16-year-old showman.
