The Senior Mowrystown FFA and Service Learning students organized, prepared and served a community Thanksgiving lunch on Monday, Nov. 25, with the help of four community members and business partners.
We were able to serve over 110 meals and raise over $300 for the Bright Local Food Pantry.
We would like to thank Ruthie Richey, Diana Stephan, Tena Roler, Amy Chambers, The Old Y Restaurant, LLC, Kroger of Mt. Orab, Kroger of Hillsboro, Gold Star Chili of Mt. Orab, McDonald's of Hillsboro, LaRosa's, Country Inn, Butterbees, Mowrystown Presbyterian Church, Jason Moore and Bernice Vest.
Without these community partners, the meal would not have been possible.
The students learned how to time manage, prepare the food, and serve others.
This is just one of their service projects that will be completed throughout the year in their senior seminar class taught by Mr. Brian DeAtley and Mrs. Kara Juillerat.
