Whiteoak students excel at land judging contest

The Ohio FFA Association held their annual State Land Judging Contest on Oct. 13 at Malabar Farms located in Richland County.
The Whiteoak High School team consisting of Tori Walker, Rikki Morris, Stephen Anderson and Brad Allen took home the second place honors in the urban category.
This is an outstanding accomplishment with 49 teams judging in the State Urban Land Judging Contest.
The Mowrystown team won first place in the District 9 Contest held on Oct. 2 at Liberty Park in Hillsboro, making the team eligible to compete at the state level.
Team member Rikki Morris was the first place individual in the Highland County Land Judging Contest held on Sept. 27 at the Highland County Fairgrounds. Morris was recognized at the Highland Soil and Water Conservation District’s 70th Annual Meeting held on Oct. 11. She was presented a plaque sponsored by Farm Credit Mid America for her top honors.
The urban team will now move on the national contest in Oklahoma in May 2013.
