Whiteoak High School Service Learning students recently coordinated “Paws Day” at Bright Elementary. The students put together games, activities, and presentations on how to care for your cats and dogs for more than 400 elementary students.

They had community partners volunteer from the Humane Society (Brad Adams) and Dog Pound (Rhonda Mason) talk to the students and give them some one-on-one information on better ways that you can take care of your animal. They also explained how to get them tagged.

The 400 elementary students enjoyed the program activities. They would like to thank The Old Y Restaurant, Elliot Feed Supply, Go-Tees, Ellie Mays Pet Grooming, and all the elementary teachers and staff for making this program possible.

The Service Learning students will be volunteering in the future at the Humane Society and Dog Pound to carry out the Service Learning experience they have started.
