On Thursday, Aug. 27, the Whiteoak Athletic Boosters held their first annual “Tailgating with the Teams” event in the parking lot at Whiteoak High School.

The event was a huge success as Wildcat fans turned out to meet the fall sports teams and enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and more.

“The turnout was great, but not surprising,” said Athletic Director John Combs.

“We have a lot of positive things happening in the district, and I feel like the community is jumping on board.”

All the fall sports teams – high school and junior high – were introduced and each coach talked about their expectations for the upcoming season.

Bright Local Schools Superintendent Ted Downing, who also spoke to the crowd, had this to say, “It was a fun event attended by parents, grandparents and community members.

"A big thanks to the boosters and to all those who came out to support the Wildcats' fall sports teams.”
