The cast has been announced and rehearsals are under way for Wilmington College Theatre’s winter production, Spinning into Butter, which will run Feb. 24, 25 and 26, at 7:30 p.m., in Heiland Theatre.
"Spinning into Butter" is Rebecca Gilman’s provocative and prize-winning play set on a quiet college campus. Wynn Alexander, professor of theatre, is directing the show with Lois Hock, professor of theatre, is production designer.
Racist letters found on the door of an African-American student precipitate a turbulent situation that Sarah Daniels, the liberal dean of students, must investigate.
Gilman’s play “provides insights into contemporary issues of racism and political correctness in a challenging, sometimes comical, and often disturbing way.”
Due to the subject matter, the play is recommended for mature audiences.
The cast includes Susan Dicken portraying Sarah Daniels, Trae Walterhouse as Ross Collins, Megan McDonough as Catherine Kenney, Tom Blackburn as Burton Strauss, Fred Taylor as Mr. Myers, Zach Hughes as Patrick Chibas and Ely Bolitho as Greg Sullivan.
Ticket reservations are available by contacting the Theatre Box Office weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. at (937) 382-6661 ext. 267.[[In-content Ad]]
