Wilmington College mathematics professor Dr. William Kincaid explained the Adamsons had limited formal education but recognized the value a dedicated student can receive through education. This scholarship was established to recognize students who value their own education.

“Corey’s work ethic is extremely strong,” Kincaid said, noting Walker even audited the Abstract Algebra course a year after he had earned a strong grade in the course simply to gain additional knowledge in the subject. “As a tutor in the WC Math Center, Corey has contributed much of his time and expertise over the last two years to struggling students.”
