United Producers Inc. (UPI) is proud to announce that its long-standing scholarship program is adopting an early launch for its 2025 applications to better align with scholarship timelines and student needs.

UPI’s 2025 applications open Dec. 1 and will close on March 1, 2025. UPI will award 10 scholarships, each valued at $1,500, to high school students pursuing higher education.

“At UPI, we are committed to fostering the growth and success of high school students wanting to further their educational opportunities,” said John Marihugh, Vice President of Strategy, Communications & Member Services. “By launching the scholarship program earlier, we hope our application cycle better aligns with the timeline for students and families and helps them in their decision-making process.”

Eligible applicants include members of UPI or the children/grandchildren of UPI members. Membership status is conferred upon those who market at least one head of livestock at UPI per year, as recorded in UPI’s 2024 records. Additionally, non-member applicants may be nominated by a current UPI member, as long as the nominee works for the member on their farm or in their agricultural operation.

To qualify for UPI’s scholarships, applicants must be a 2025 high school graduate with plans to attend college or technical school. Applicants must submit an application along with an essay outlining their college and career aspirations. It’s important to note that children and grandchildren of full-time UPI employees or members of the Board of Directors are not eligible for this scholarship.

United Producers Inc. encourages all eligible candidates to seize this opportunity to further their education and make a lasting impact in their chosen fields. The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2025. Apply online at www.uproducers.com/scholarship.

UPI serves 30,000 members in Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Tennessee, handling approximately 2.7 million head of livestock per year. UPI also offers risk management services, including marketing agreements and brokerage services; and offers competitive agricultural lending products for real estate, farm, operating, and livestock financing.
