Theatre camp offered at UC Clermont's Calico Children's Theatre

UC Clermont College will again be offering Calico Theatre Camp this summer on campus. The camp is a fully-staged musical for young actors in grades K-12 (kindergartners must be entering first grade in the fall of 2013). Camp will take place June 10-15.

This season’s show title is “The Amazing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe.”

The theatre camp culminates in two performances open to family, friends and the general public. A complimentary workshop is included in the cost of camp. The theatre camp is held on the UC Clermont College campus at 4200 Clermont College Dr., in Batavia, in the Krueger Auditorium.

The Calico Children's Theatre partners with Missoula Children’s Theatre (MTC) to provide a fun and engaging theatre camp.

MCT is the premier internationally-renowned touring children’s theatre program whose mission is to provide the development of life skills through participation in the performing arts.

Scripts are structured specifically for the Tour’s short rehearsal period, and recognize the needs of the individual child.

Major roles are large, complex and challenging; ensemble parts emphasize unison songs, actions and movements. There is an audition process.

Every child selected to be a camper gets a part!

The non-refundable camp registration fee is $110 per acting role and $55 per assistant director role. The registration fee can be paid as soon as audition selections are announced on Monday, June 10 and are due by no later than 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11.

Auditions
Monday, June 10
10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (check in 9:30-10 a.m.)
(Auditions will be held as a group, no advance preparation needed)

Rehearsals
June 10 – 14
12:30 – 5 p.m.

Dress rehearsal
Saturday, June 15, 11 a.m.
(rehearsal hours will vary according to roles assigned)

Performances
Saturday, June 15, 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
