TAG students tour Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown

Highland County’s Talented & Gifted (TAG) students recently experienced Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement, Berkeley Plantation and Monticello on their annual TAG field trip.

The 50 fifth, sixth, and seventh graders and seven chaperones toured Colonial Williamsburg with stops at Bruton Parish Church, the Governor’s Palace, the Capitol, Shields Tavern and trade shops & exhibit buildings along the Duke of Glouchester Street.

Students also toured Jamestown Settlement and the Jamestown Glasshouse, the gardens, museum, monuments and home at historic Berekeley Plantation, as well as Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello.

Students attending from Fairfield Local Schools were: Saylor Priest, Jacob Baldwin, Justin Sowders, Laynee Duffie, Brandston Duffie, Cody Ayers, Payton Harvey, and Bryson Simmons.

Students from Hillsboro City Schools were: Kristin Jamieson, Emily Young, Brian Shanahan, Ryan Whiting, Quinn Conlon, Lana Grover, Andrew Louderback, Lane Cluff, Nicole Rase, Logan Crafton, Andrew Gunderman, Leah Womelsdorf, Paul Jenkins, Ryan Harless, Jacob Music, Faye Wooden, Christopher Jacky, Kieran Conlon, Owen Ryan, Gabe Gilliland, Larkyn Parry, Celena Carter, Sydney Sears, Clayton Snavely, Blake Tira, Rylee Callahan, Sydney Callahan, Joe Helterbrand, Justin Conn, Jenna Wilson, Bryce Bledsoe, Mason Swayne, Jack Roades, Aneisha Scott, Jonathon Hatfield and Maggie Lerch.

Lynchburg-Clay students who attended were: Isabella Quickel, Emily McGinnis, Brooklyn Laymon, Rebekkah Grennell and Faith Carpenter.

Bright Local School District was represented by Cora Gillespie.

Chaperones for the trip were Mr. Tim Crafton, Mrs. Tonia Armstrong, Mrs. Michelle Ryan, Mrs. Melissa Gillespie, Mrs. Kesia McCoy and Mrs. Joni Minton. The trip was coordinated and chaperoned by Kimberly Douglas, School & Student Services Coordinator for the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center, in conjunction with Terry Childers, agent for Travel Doctors of Huntington, W.Va.
