The kindergarten and 4-year-old preschool classes at St. Mary Catholic School in Hillsboro planted pine seeds with the help of Brandon Leeth, a preschool dad.

Brandon provided all the materials needed and talked to the students about how the seeds
had been gathered. Each student got to plant a seed and take it home. The school appreciates Brandon's assistance.

• The kindergarten through fourth-grade classes at St. Mary Catholic School were treated to "An Arctic Life Presentation" by Jenafour and Gerald Azure.

The Azures live in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada and were guests of Linda Perry. They shared
many interesting facts about Churchill with the students, such as it is the polar bear capital of the world. Churchill has a population of 800 citizens and 1,000 polar bears!

The Azures brought their Huskie, Grub, and had a slideshow of the dog team, polar bears, and the beautiful scenery of Canada. It was a very educational and interesting presentation.
