St. Mary to celebrate Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 27-Feb. 2, is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. The week places emphasis on the value Catholic education provides young people and its contributions to the church, communities and the nation.
The theme for Catholic School Week 2013 is "Catholic Schools Raise the Standards." Catholic schools are noted for their academic excellence and high moral standards. This year's theme celebrates the constant attention Catholic educators pay to increasing the learning and growth in faith in all students. The theme highlights the launch of a new initiative, the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools, to ensure consistent high standards at Catholic schools across the country. Catholic educators are also participating in a nationwide education initiative for all schools called the Common Core State Standards.
St. Mary faculty and staff invite everyone to visit and tour our school during Catholic Schools Week. The school is currently enrolling students for the upcoming school year. All faiths are accepted. Please call the school at 840-9932 or visit our website at stmaryofhillsboro.com.
