SSCC seeking registrations for fall 2026 Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Program

Southern State Community College is now accepting registrations for its Fall 2026 Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Program, providing an affordable, eight-week pathway into one of the region's most in-demand healthcare careers. Classes begin Aug. 25 and conclude Oct. 15, 2026.
As healthcare employers across the region continue to seek qualified nurse aides, Southern State's CNA Program prepares students with the knowledge, confidence, and hands-on experience needed to enter the workforce quickly.
Training includes vital signs, personal care, mobility assistance, activities of daily living, communication, infection prevention, and other foundational nursing assistant skills that prepare graduates for entry-level employment and success on the Ohio Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation.
In addition to preparing students for immediate employment, the CNA Program serves as a stackable credential within Southern State's nursing education pathway. Students who choose to continue their education can apply CNA coursework toward entry into Southern State’s nursing programs.
"Healthcare is one of the fastest-growing career fields, and our CNA Program allows students to enter the workforce in just eight weeks while building a strong foundation for future nursing education," said Abigail Storrs, Director of Nursing at Southern State Community College. "Whether a student wants to begin working immediately or continue toward becoming an LPN or RN, Southern State provides a clear pathway to help them achieve those goals."
