A Hamilton County school board member was honored with the Ohio School Boards Association’s (OSBA) most esteemed award.
Terry Gibson was recognized as a 2023 All-Ohio School Board member on Sunday, Nov. 12, during the First General Session of the 68th OSBA Capital Conference and Trade Show, which runs Nov. 12-14 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
Each year, OSBA names one board of education member from each of its five regions — Central, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest — to the All-Ohio School Board. The award recognizes outstanding service to public education and represents the dedication shown by thousands of board members across the state.
Gibson, who represents OSBA’s Southwest Region, is in his 18th year on the Lockland Local Schools board and also serves on the Great Oaks Career Campuses board.
Gibson says his mission as a school board member is to “help children get the best possible education to help them succeed in life.” He also received the Ohio ACTE Outstanding Board Member and OSBA Southwest Region Al Kettlewell awards.
Gibson has served as board president and president of OSBA’s Southwest Region.
Founded in 1955, OSBA leads the way as the respected voice of public education. For more information, contact OSBA or your local school district.
