SOACDF recognizes Educational Excellence Competitive Grant recipients

The Southern Ohio Agricultural & Community Development Foundation Board of Trustees met recently at the Endeavor Center at OSU South Centers in Piketon to recognize the recipients of the 2016-2017 Educational Excellence Competitive Grant.
The Educational Excellence Grant is a one-time grant of up to $7,500 toward tuition, on-campus housing, lab fees and books to be used at an accredited institution.
Applicants were scored by a committee on a combination of written essays and personal interviews.

Winners included:
• Adams County: Katie McFarland, Noah Wickerham, Jessica Wright.
• Brown County: Ronald Loebker, Shelby Loebker, Meggie O’Hara, Miranda Poklar, Megan Williams.
• Clermont County: Mikayla Hamilton, Emma Uible.
• Clinton County: Monica Pennewitt.
• Fayette County: Tobin Anderson, Natalie Miller.
• Gallia County: Ellie Bostic, Jacob Winters.
• Highland County: Kelli Burwinkel, Heather Cox, Courtney Cummings, Kylie Douglas.
• Lawrence County: Cheryl Crawford.
• Noble County: Ashley Zwick.
• Scioto County: Abigail Fuhrmann.
Applications for the 2017-2018 Educational Excellence Competitive Grant will be available at the SOACDF office or Farm Service Agencies in Southern Ohio in late October.
