Shawnee State University sponsors Personnel Development Strategies seminar

Shawnee State University in cooperation with OSU South Centers and Ohio University- Chillicothe will be sponsoring a seminar presented by Personnel Development Strategies called “Managing Difficult Employees and…Difficult Personnel Situations.”

This seminar will take place on March 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Endeavor Center in Piketon.

The seminar outcomes and objectives include:

· Learn the three main categories into which difficult employees fall;

· Review all of the costs a business has to burden when difficult employees have to be managed;

· Become familiar with the key steps of dealing with a difficult employee or personnel situation;

· Present five common, difficult situations supervisors face in today’s workplace;

· Participant teams will identify a troublesome situation, and develop a strategy for coping with that challenge. Then, the team will prepare a role-play discussion that supports their strategy;

· Each team will present the strategy and role-play discussion they developed for their assigned personnel situation;

· At the end of the seminar, each participant will identify at least three new ideas they can implement in their department.
