PORTSMOUTH – President Rita Rice Morris, the Shawnee State University Development Foundation board, academic leadership and nursing faculty, were joined by CEO Randy Arnett and other members of Southern Ohio Medical Center to honor Dr. Thomas Khoury and Mrs. Cheryl Khoury for their generous contribution to establish the Khoury Nursing Labs.

Through the Khoury Nursing Labs, SSU nursing students will be able to utilize state-of-the-art laboratories and the latest in technology to ensure the skills they will need as they prepare to enter the workforce.

“Dr. and Mrs. Khoury are great friends of Shawnee State and without their generous contribution, this would not be possible. The Khoury Nursing Labs will provide SSU nursing students the opportunity to learn with the latest simulation lab technology,” said Eric Braun, Director of the SSU Development Foundation.

Dr. Khoury has dedicated the past 22 years of his life to caring for the people of his community and to ensure that every patient has access to the highest quality of medical treatment.

“It is my heartfelt pleasure to dedicate the Khoury Nursing Labs as part of Shawnee State University,” said President Rita Rice Morris. “I have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Khoury personally and professionally through the years and it is my pleasure to dedicate these labs in his honor as someone who is driven to advancing the quality of health care in our region.”
