Sen. Portman meets with Ohio educators on ways to prepare students for college

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) met with members of the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) and the Ohio Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. Portman and the groups discussed ways in which they can ensure Ohio students are prepared for college as well as careers. Portman serves as co-chair of the Senate Career and Technical Education (CTE) Caucus.

“I appreciated the opportunity to meet with members of the school board as well as many of Ohio’s college presidents,” Portman stated. “I enjoyed our discussion on ways to ensure Ohio students are prepared for college and careers, and thank them for their important work.”

“We appreciate Senator Portman’s commitment to improving education for students in Ohio,” said OSBA President, Ed Penrod. “OSBA welcomes the opportunity to continue to work together and provide insight on federal policies from school boards and communities across the state.”

“Presidents from Ohio’s independent colleges and universities thank Senator Portman for supporting affordable higher education that enables students to obtain a quality education,” said the Ohio Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.
