Sen. Portman meets with Ohio college presidents

U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) attended the annual Ohio College Presidents Conference, a forum aimed at connecting educators with business leaders to advance regional economic development.

The Conference, hosted by Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), was attended by more than 50 presidents from colleges and universities across Ohio.

Portman is the author of the bipartisan CAREER Act, which would help make federal job training programs more responsive to the needs of the 21st-century job market.
 
“I was pleased to meet with so many of Ohio’s college presidents today to exchange ideas on how to connect our graduates with jobs,” Portman stated.

“I appreciated the opportunity to discuss my CAREER Act, because I believe community colleges, career tech centers, and other training providers can be important partners with colleges and universities as they prepare workers for the 21st century global economy.”
