This Saturday, October 24th, the Rainsboro Elementary PTO will again host the very popular Halloween Carnival from 5pm to 8:30 pm.  Carnival games, costume contest, bingo, face painting and the cake walk return to the event which is the school's largest fundraiser of the year.  In addition, families can enjoy hot homemade soups, chili, steak sandwiches, hotdogs and desserts and try their luck in various bucket raffles for gift certificates and mechanidise  donated by our own generous area merchants.  (including newspaper subsciptions, portrait packages, will preparation and savings bonds).   The end of the night, will feature the grand prize drawings for $300, $200 and $100 jointly donated by Paint Township trustees/candidates Steve Karnes, Randy Mustard and Jeff White.
The carnival will again sponsor two popular auctions--the themed "Basket Auction" and the "Event/Ticket Auction" .  The 14 themed baskets (OSU, Family game night, Candles, Picnic/Tailgate party, McClain Tigers and many more) are created by each classroom  with all proceeds going to buy classroom supplies.  The Event/Ticket Auction has in past years featured family zoo passes, COSI tickets, museum tickets, ski lift passes, ballet, orchestra and opera tickets, Cincinnati Reds tickets and many others. Jennie Wenker, PTO mom says, "Our regional sponsors have been supportive of our school and especially this year, they recognize how tough the recession has been in our area."   The auctions have been very popular for those looking for an extra-special Christmas gift for the family.   "We have been truly blessed by the generosity of our local merchants, business people and politicians in making all the donations that make our event possible", stated Carol Purvis, a PTO mom on the fundraising committee.  "Thanks to all of our donors for every donation, large and small.  We all really appreciate your support of the kids."
All proceeds go to the nonprofit Rainsboro PTO to fund special programs, educational events and field trips for Rainsboro Elementary children.
