Raeann Hurst, a 2013 graduate of Fairfield Local High School, was awarded the Leesburg Lions Club $500 GOOD Program Scholarship at the club’s May 20th meeting.

The GOOD Program was established by Lion Ron Derry of Baltimore, Ohio.

It is designed to honor students who work hard and exhibit good citizenship, personal skills and study habits.

Raeann was chosen by her teachers as recipient of this year’s award and received their letter of recommendation, a GOOD Program certificate and T-shirt and the scholarship.

Raeann is the daughter of Rick and Becky Hurst of Leesburg. During her high school years, she was active in cheerleading and volleyball and also worked at the Hillsboro Peebles Store.

Raeann loves working with children and helps care for her younger brother, Ryker, who has cerebral palsy. Because of her love for children, she plans to complete her associate's degree at Southern State Community College and then transfer to Wilmington College to obtain a degree in child psychology.

Leesburg Lions Club is proud of Raeann and wishes her all the best in her future endeavors.
