The Premier Showmen 4-H Club held a hands-on Beef Showmanship Clinic for members on Sunday, Aug. 10 at the Highland County Fairgrounds.
The event gave youth an opportunity to sharpen their skills and gain confidence in the show ring ahead of upcoming competitions.
Under the guidance of club advisor Brian Cummings and assistant Natalie Hamilton, members practiced a variety of techniques designed to improve their individual showmanship. Participants learned about proper animal handling, ring etiquette and how to present their cattle to the judge with poise and professionalism.
Throughout the clinic, youth received personalized feedback, allowing them to better understand what to do — and what to avoid — during competition. The hands-on learning experience not only built skill but also strengthened the confidence of the members.
