Heather Parker-
Opening Night, an annual showcase of the talent at Edward Lee McClain High School, is directed by choir director Loretta Flora. This year’s show will be held in the auditorium Saturday, Oct. 12 from 2:30-7:30 p.m.

The theme this year is “Broadway,” which means that all the acts will have to be Broadway-themed.

Flora said that her favorite part of Opening Night is ¨giving students a chance on the stage.”

Sign-ups for auditions will be on Monday, Sept. 9, and auditions will be held the next day, Sept. 10, in the choir room. The beginning act starts at 2:45 p.m., and the ending act takes the stage at 6 p.m. For auditions, make sure the act is Broadway-themed, halfway show-ready and most importantly school-appropriate.

Opening Night can be performed only by the students at, and alumni of, McClain. Some popular acts in recent years include: skits, singing, dancing and instrumental performances.
