Ohio School Boards Association reacts to House-passed budget proposal

By
Ohio School Boards Association, Press Release

Here is a statement from the Ohio School Boards Association on Wednesday’s House vote on the state’s next two-year budget:

“The two-year budget passed by the Ohio House today includes historic funding for public schools students through the Fair School Funding Plan,” OSBA Director of Legislative Services Jennifer Hogue said. “This plan provides a fair, predictable and reliable means of meeting the needs of students.

“We appreciate that Gov. Mike DeWine and the Ohio House are investing in our students and teachers. Additionally, we are grateful that the House understands the importance of maintaining the integrity of the Fair School Funding Plan by updating current costs. These changes will help prepare students for lifelong success.

“We encourage the Senate to do the same as it now considers the budget.”
