Northwest Ohio school board member is 2024 OSBA president-elect

The Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) Delegate Assembly has elected Thomas C. Patterson as the association’s 2024 president-elect. Patterson serves on the Sandusky City Schools Board of Education.
He was elected Monday during the Annual Business Meeting of the OSBA Delegate Assembly. The delegates meet each year at the Capital Conference and Trade Show, the association’s state convention that draws thousands of school board members, administrators and other education leaders to Columbus.
Current OSBA President-elect Sally S. Green, a member of the Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools Board of Education in Tuscarawas County, will become OSBA president on Jan. 1, 2024.
Patterson, who is in his 18th year of board service, will take over as OSBA president in 2025 following his term as president-elect. He currently serves on OSBA’s Board of Trustees and Board Member Cabinet and is a member of the association’s Northwest Region Executive Committee. He served as region president in 2020.
“This is truly an honor and a humbling experience,” Patterson said. “I’m looking forward to working with the leadership at OSBA.”
Patterson and his wife, Cindy, have been married 53 years. Three of their four children have roles in public education.
He is a 1967 graduate of Sandusky City’s Sandusky High School and in 2019 retired from Industrial Nut Corp., where he worked in logistics and purchasing.
