Northeast Ohio school board member nominated as OSBA president-elect

Sally S. Green, a northeast Ohio school board member, was selected as the Ohio School Boards Association’s (OSBA) president-elect nominee. If elected during OSBA’s statewide conference in November, she will become OSBA president in 2024 following her term as president-elect in 2023.
Green, who is in her 17th year on the Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools Board of Education in Tuscarawas County, was first elected in November 2005. She currently serves as president of OSBA’s Northeast Region and was president and vice president of her local board in 2020.
“I am passionate about quality education for all students,” Green said. “Education can and does change the trajectory of a student’s life. OSBA does an excellent job of providing educational excellence for school board members, and it is an honor to be a part of this organization.”
Green is a member of OSBA’s Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, Legislative Platform Committee, Black Caucus and Northeast Region Executive Committee. She also has served on the association’s Board Member Cabinet and Federal Relations Network.
In 2020, Green was recognized as an OSBA Master Board Member, a lifetime distinction.
Green and her husband, David, have been married for 39 years. They have two children and four grandchildren.
