Mrs. Jo Heather Arnett earns Ohio Honorary FFA Degree

Lynchburg-Clay Computer Science Teacher Mrs. Jo Heather Arnett recently earned the Ohio Honorary FFA Degree. This is the highest award that the Ohio FFA Association can bestow upon on non-FFA members.
This award is award is given to exceptional teachers, individuals, and companies that have demonstrated continued success and support of the FFA and/or agricultural education. Mrs. Arnett was nominated for the Honorary State FFA Degree by her daughter, Julie Arnett.
Julie is serving as the Lynchburg-Clay FFA President and felt compelled to nominate her mother for the award because of her continued dedication and support that she provides to the chapter.
Having been a former FFA advisor herself, Mrs. Arnett is no stranger to the Lynchburg-Clay FFA activities. In the past few years, Mrs. Arnett has been a valuable asset to their program by assisting where ever it is needed.
In the fall, she creates the FFA Truck & Tractor Pull programs and flyers that promote the sponsors before and during our pulls. Mrs. Arnett always creates the bracket for the annual Greg Wilkin Alumni Basketball Tournament that is used to promote the event and to track the games and teams that participate.
In the spring, Mrs. Arnett finalizes the banquet program, script, and powerpoint presentations that highlights the chapters’ accomplishments and recognizes the graduating seniors. Throughout the year, whenever the members need assistance with technology; a CDE contest; transporting students to and from events; contacting businesses for donations; collecting donations; promoting fundraisers; selling and delivering the products from the fundraisers; or speaking to the Greenhand members and parents at the annual Greenhand Banquet, Mrs. Arnett is always willing to step up and help our members and FFA chapter.
To ensure that the chapter was properly prepared for the National Chapter presentations at the State FFA Convention, Mrs. Arnett chaperoned the trip so that she could be certain that all the technology equipment was functioning properly before each students’ presentation. This certainly took a lot of stress off of the advisor and students during this time.
Also during this past year’s National FFA Convention, Mrs. Arnett again chaperoned the trip by riding the charter bus to Louisville in order that Mrs. McKee, the Lynchburg-Clay FFA advisor, was able to be with the two students that were doing our Models of Excellence presentation.
Having Mrs. Arnett available during the trip allowed Mrs. McKee to focus on the two students during the presentation.
No matter what the favor is, whenever the Lynchburg-Clay FFA asks Mrs. Arnett to assist she is always willing to go above and beyond to help out. The Lynchburg-Clay FFA would like to sincerely thank Mrs. Arnett for her unfailing dedication, support, and encouragement and to congratulate her for receiving the Honorary State FFA Degree!
