The Mowrystown FFA Chapter recently took the long trip to the Statehouse for the Ohio Legislative Leadership Conference (OLLC).

The chapter was one of the few in the state to participate. Two hundred FFA members were in attendance, five of whom were from Mowrystown: Tori Walker, Kylie Douglas, Courtney Cummings, Rikki Morris, and Reannen Kiley, along with Mr. DeAtley.

That morning the members had the opportunity to speak to Ohio legislators, other FFA members, and agricultural education instructors.

Three agricultural lobbyists spoke to the members of Ohio FFA about ways to lobby not only for agriculture, but also for any topic. This conference is an example of how FFA teaches today’s youth that if they focus more on their desire to make a difference they can. They have the opportunity to change agriculture for the better.
