The Mowrystown FFA Chapter Ag Issues team received fifth place in the state on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the state competition held at Wilmington College.

The team consists of seven members: Tori Walker, Jake Minter, Courtney Cummings, Alexis Elliott, Rikki Morris, Reannen Kiley and Morgan Campbell.

To participate in the Ag Issues contest, each chapter needs a team that consists of 3 to 7 people, a 15-minute presentation, a two-page summary, and a portfolio.

This year the Ag Issue was based on Issue 2, also known as the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board that was passed in 2009. The team held a talk show which had two sides, one side was for the board, and the other side was against the board. The team has worked extremely hard and it paid off in the end.
