Mowrystown FFA Adopt-a-Family Program raises funds for local families

The Mowrystown FFA has raised over $250 for Adopt-a-family. Adopt-a-family is a program where Mowrystown community comes together and helps out families in need during the Christmas season.

This year the community partners helped were the Volunteer Firemen and EMS Association, Mowrystown FFA Alumni, and H&R Block of Mt. Orab.

The Southern Highland Joint Fire District, and Mowrystown FFA came together on Wednesday, Dec. 18, to go shopping for the families.

Ashlie Milburn is one of the outstanding FFA members who has really put her heart into helping the needy families this Christmas Season. Milburn raised over $150 all by herself by selling key fobs to students and staff members at Whiteoak High School. Key fobs are a lot like lanyards, but shorter and hang from the wrist instead of the neck.

These were made by Christy Snider and students could personalize them with different colors and could have their names on them!

The Mowrystown FFA also sold T-shirts and sweat pants raising over $130.

Thank you to all the people that have helped with the Adopt-a-Family, if it was donating money, or time all of it is appreciated!
