Hillsboro resident Courtney L. Morgan is the recipient of a $2,000 Wilmington College/Southern State Community College Scholarship. Part of the criteria for this award requires maintaining a 2.0 minimum college grade point average and 24-plus semester hours of college work from Southern State Community College as the last college attended.

Morgan, who plans to major in special education, is a 2012 graduate of Hillsboro High School, where she was a member of the choir and National Honor Society.

She is the daughter of Danny and Jeanna Morgan Jr. of Hillsboro.

Other types of scholarships and award amounts are available from Wilmington College, a career-oriented liberal arts institution affiliated with the Society of Friends (Quakers). It is located in southwestern Ohio, approximately one hour from Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton. The Blue Ash branch campus serves a large number of non-traditional students.
