McClain High School announces Homecoming Court, activities

Edward Lee McClain High School has announced the 2014 Homecoming Court and activities.

The Homecoming Court includes Queen Shelby Dodds; Queen's Attendants Joshlin Lawson and Rachel Onusko; Senior Attendant Sydney Barton; Junior Attendant Anna Ehlers; Sophomore Attendant Maria Onusko; and Freshman Attendant Payton Smith.

The school will celebrate a spirit week starting on Monday, Sept. 8 through the annual afternoon pep rally on Friday, Sept. 12. The annual snake dance and bonfire will be held on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. at the football practice field. The Homecoming pre-game ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, prior to the football game with Zane Trace.

 

On Saturday, Sept. 13, the Homecoming Dance will take place from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the high school before school, during lunch and after school. Singles tickets are $10, and couples tickets are $18. Students may also purchase tickets at the door on the night of the dance.

The following are the themes for spirit week:

• Monday, Sept. 8: Futuristic Day

• Tuesday, Sept. 9: Cartoon Day

• Wednesday, Sept. 10: Color War Wednesday (Freshmen: Yellow; Sophomores: Green; Juniors: Blue; Seniors: Pink; Staff: Black)

• Thursday, Sept. 11: Generation Day

• Friday, Sept. 12: Purple and Gold Day
