McClain FFA soils teams earn high placement in recent event

The McClain FFA soils teams had a standout performance recently at the State Soils Career Development Event, earning high placements and recognition for their dedication and skill.

The FFA Soils Career Development Event (CDE) challenges students to identify soil types, assess land, and recommend proper uses for agriculture and conservation. The competition tests teamwork, hands-on skills, and practical knowledge of soil science, preparing students for careers in agriculture and natural resources.

The Agricultural Soils Team placed third overall in the state, securing a spot at the National Land and Range Judging Contest in El Reno, Okla. Team members will compete May 5-7, 2026. Members of McClain FFA’s Agricultural Soils Team include Olivia Stegbauer, Leah Lovett, Aubrey Baldwin, and Lila Banks.

The Urban Soils Team also represented McClain FFA with excellence, finishing seventh overall in the state. Members of the team are Janson Allison, Alaina Best, Hailey Cornett, and Kambriah Tomlin.
